He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. 25 "Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. 26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. 27 And he has given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man. 28 Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.”

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, our sister Doris has gone to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ yesterday morning. Dorris was born on November 1, 1925 in Henryetta, OK. On November 12, 1949 God blessed Doris with a companion in her husband Wally Hall. They had two children together. On February 27, 1977 Doris joined our congregation through the waters of Holy Baptism and was confirmed. She professed her faith in Jesus Christ her Lord who has kept her to this very day in her faith. So that in Life and in Death She is the Lord’s. Our Lord and Savior shall keep her safety until the great Last Day of the resurrection.
Holy Spirit, as we mourn the death of our loved one, comfort us with the sure hope of the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Let not our sorrows overcome us. Mix hope and faith with our sorrows and tears. Fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, and give us the sure and certain hope of the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting, through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord. Amen.
