ISSUE NO.38 | FEBRUARY 2019
Share The Love!
Hi friends! I know not all of us are big fans of Valentine's Day, but whether you have a special someone to share the holiday with or not, we can all stand to show ourselves and others around us a little more love! Reach out to someone you care about and grab lunch, have a meaningful conversation, and don't be afraid to ask for advice and help in areas where you need it!
Strength In Numbers
I’ve always known what to do to get in a good sweat—I love to run far and ride fast—but since taking 6 weeks off to heal and recover after giving birth, I've seen my body change in many ways. As I get back into the swing of things, I've been inspired to workout not just to burn steam, but to build strength! I don’t know nearly as much about resistance training as I do about cardio, but rather than trying to do it myself, I’ve decided reach out and employ the advice of others!
Core Strength
While we’re talking about strength, what’s more important than physical strength is mental and emotional strength—what I consider true "core strength." Dusty and I have had our fair share of ups and downs over the years, and what has helped us to grow stronger has been our open communication with each other—our ability to be vulnerable and ask for help.
There Is No "I" In Team
Especially as new parents, there has never been a greater time of growth for the two of us relationally. My biggest piece of advice is to ask your loved ones how they’re feeling—how they’re really feeling, often, and to share in each other’s hurts and hang-ups before they become blow-ups and fall-outs! And what can be even more scary and difficult for us to do is to ask for help when we ourselves need it! Strength takes a team, so don’t hate, collaborate! And when you’re feeling like you’ve got no one to turn to, God is always present and ready to listen!
Goal For The Month:
Send someone you care about a Valentine in the form of a hand-written letter (YES! Snail mail!) and tell them how much you care!
Big Thank You
