"And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them."  1 John 4:16 NIV

What great Love our God is!!

I pray all is well with you.  And we thank you for praying for True Impact, our ministry and the children in our care.  When we all come together before God, He hears us and will answer our prayers.

Speaking of coming together, we have our spring fundraiser coming up on Sunday March 3rd.  Mark the date.  It will be at Crossroads Community Church at 9900 S. Twenty Mile Road, Parker, CO 80134.  Doors open at 4pm.  The celebration will go until 6pm.  We will have information about what we are doing and how we are providing for the children in our care.  There will be fun stuff for children and we will have African items available, along with the music of Danny Oertli.  Please bring your friends so they can see what we are doing and how they can join our effort.

A great and easy way to join us is to share the news with your friends.  Would you mind telling your friends about True Impact Ministries and what we are doing for the poor, destitute and orphaned children in Uganda.  We currently have more than two dozen children that are in our care that we do not have sponsors for.  We cannot afford to continue to care for these children unless we get sponsors soon.  Please share our website with your friends.  There they can see the children and sign up.  Thank you.

Last, I want to share with you a story from one of the board members.  Amy spent a week in Jinja visiting the kids at the Michelle and Julia Hoffman Memorial Children's Home.  Here is her story and some pictures.

This past month my daughters, Katie (16) and Molly (12), and I took our annual trip to The Michelle and Julia Hoffman Memorial Children's Home in Jinja, Uganda.  Six years have passed since our good friend, Mike Hoffman, lost his wife, daughter, and mother to a drunk driver which set into motion the creation of this beautiful community in their memory.  Each year we witness amazing physical, emotional and spiritual growth in the 51 children who are a part of this special group. My own children consider these kids true friends and the reunions grow sweeter each visit.

Cleats and Shoes:  My daughter Katie is an avid soccer player and collected used cleats this year to bring to all the kids.  We also purchased local shoes from the market and allowed the kids to pick out new shoes and outfits. This has been a great annual tradition where the kids get to “shop” for clothes that they personally like from our own makeshift store.
Field Days: Julius, the night watchman at Hoffman home, helped reserve a nearby field for weekend outings throughout the year.  The field is only a short 15 minute walk away from the home and the kids can run and play freely. During our visit, the Hoffman Home hosted two soccer matches against other local children's homes.
Craft Room: Another highlight of our trip was helping Rachel, the social worker at the Home, purchase supplies for a craft room. This special project was made possible by a generous sponsor donation to support Racheal's dream to teach the kids sustainable skills of making leather shoes, bags, beaded crafts, etc. that can be sold for extra spending money.
Education:  The kids at Hoffman Home attend Greater Love Primary School and our first group of 5 students just completed their P7 National Exam to start Secondary level.  These five performed extremely well on the exam allowing them an opportunity to attend the well respected Mpoma Royal College near Kampala. The new school term begins in early February and the kids are eager to continue their studies which they know will help achieve their goals.
Grateful: As we returned to the frozen tundra of Minnesota from the red dirt roads of Uganda, our hearts are filled with gratitude.  Thankful for all the True Impact donors and sponsors that monthly help meet the basic needs of these children and support the staff on the ground who care for them. Grateful for the joy experienced spending time with our ministry partners who daily model Romans 12:12.  Above all, we thank God for His faithfulness and unending love!
Thank you again for everything you have done to support our ministry!
We appreciate your prayers and your support!
You are helping us to make a  TRUE IMPACT  around the world!

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV
