The National Guild for Community Arts Education, the Texas Commission on the Arts, Texans for the Arts, Texans for the Arts, and SAY Sí are pleased to invite you to participate in the upcoming planning meeting for the 2019 Conference for Community Arts Education. The Conference will be held in Austin, October 30–November 2.

As a national organization, we have the privilege of bringing together arts education leaders from around the country through our annual conference. This spring, we are hosting planning meetings across Texas to connect the Guild to critical issues and opportunities affecting the field regionally and help identify local organizations, thought leaders, and artists to highlight during the program. We are reaching out to those on the ground—the practitioners doing the remarkable, day-to-day work of transforming communities through the arts—to build a collective vision for what this conference can achieve.

The planning meeting will:
  • Provide background on the National Guild and the Conference, including how we're using our mission, vision, and values to guide our work
  • Create space for networking and collaboration with the local arts ed community
  • Generate ideas for how the 2019 Conference for Community Arts Education can be responsive to the local community
Our San Antonio meeting will be at SAY Sí on Thursday, February 28, 3:30pm–6:00pm, and will include light snacks and beverages.
Register Now! Deadline to Register: February 22
The Conference is the nation’s leading annual gathering of the community arts education field, bringing together 700+ arts education stakeholders including practitioners, funders, youth, policy makers, researchers and professionals from allied sectors. Many are leading community-based organizations ranging from neighborhood arts and music schools, arts and cultural centers, youth theaters and orchestras, mural arts programs, and arts education divisions of theater and dance companies, universities, museums, local arts agencies, and parks and recreation departments. The conference program addresses the specific needs of leaders in the field and provides support for expanding equitable access to arts learning opportunities in communities across the country.

Please complete the reservation form below by February 22 to RSVP for the planning meeting and networking lunch. The Guild is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive conference and encourage you to share this invitation with others who you think would like to be part of the planning process!
