TX PTA Rally Day is tomorrow! (Monday, February 25th)
- 8:15am - Meet up with others from ACPTA at House Park (1301 Shoal Creek Blvd, Austin, TX 78701) for free parking and a 20 minute walk over to First United Methodist Church
- 9:30am-11:10am - Priorities Caucus at First United Methodist Church (1201 Lavaca St, Austin, TX 78701) Note - this is a well attended event and seating was hard to find after 9am at Rally Day 2017
- 11:30am-noon - Rally on the South Steps of the Capitol
- 1:30pm - Team up with ACPTA Advocacy Ambassadors to join scheduled meetings OR be part of drop in visits to specified legislators. Details and team assignments to be shared along with talking points during briefing that starts at 1:30 pm in Capitol Building, Members Lounge - Extension, E2.1002. Plan to stay through 3 - 4 pm if you are able.

March 29th at 8:30am in the LBJ/LASA library - presentation for parents by Corinne Sumpter-Gonzalez and David Gonzalez about how to help our kids avoid cyber pitfalls. More information about the presentation and an evite will be in next week's LOL. Brought to you by the PFLASA Wellness Committee. Refreshments will be offered starting at 7:45am in the black chair area of the library, and presentation at 8:30am

Reminder - to avoid Registration Late Fees in addition to the exam fees, register by this Thursday, Feb. 28th. Do not forget there are 2 steps to complete the sign-up process:
1. Complete this registration form (to be filled out by students only): https://www.lasahighschool.org/academics/ap-exams/ap-registration
2. Submit payment using one of these methods:
- online payments can be made between 2/1/19 - 3/1/19 using SchoolCashOnline
- check, cash money orders: 2/27/19 & 2/28/19 (during lunch in the library at LASA) PAYABLE TO "LASA AP"

PTSA Nominating Committee needed

LBJ/LASA PTSA is still looking for nominating committee volunteers to help find a slate of officers for next year's board. For a description of nominating committee duties go to Nominations & Elections - Texas PTA - every child. one voice. and email lbjlasaptsa@gmail.com if you are interested. The nominating committee will be elected at a PTSA meeting which is being scheduled and will be in next week's LOL.

Help needed for accepted student parent coffees

Saturday, March 9th PFLASA is hosting 2 coffees in the LBJ/LASA library (10-11:30am and 1-2:30pm) for parents of accepted students. The goal of the coffees is to share information, answer parents' questions, etc., so we'll need volunteers. Please signup if you can help set up, greet, and/or visit with parents of accepted students: http://signup.com/go/aRqsvTS Students are welcome, but the focus is on having parents of current students available to talk with parents of accepted students.

LASA National Honor Society Membership Application
|
|
|

The LASA National Honor Society membership applications were sent out to eligible students on Friday through Naviance. Eligibility is open to sophomores and juniors with a GPA of 3.7 or higher. If you did not receive an application and believe you should have or if you have any questions about the application process please contact Neil Loewenstern, the NHS adviser, at neil.loewenstern@austinisd.org.

Mr. Blue Sky LIP DUB INPUT

We are in the planning stages of our Mr. Blue Sky lip dub. As we plan, we welcome suggestions from students and faculty. If you have an idea for how your group of friends may want to appear in this year's production, click here to tell us about your group. The form is found here. You may also attend the FIT session on Feb 20th and Feb 27 in Mokry's room, 209 to give your suggestions.

2/26 Chipotle Night at Mueller for LBJ Baseball

Support the LBJ Baseball team by eating in or taking out from the Mueller Chipotle (1201 Barbara Jordan Blvd #1300, Austin, TX 78723) 4-8pm this Tuesday, February 26th. No need to show a flier, just tell the cashier and 33% of the proceeds will go to LBJ Baseball.
