Key Pebble permitting document released

Today the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released the draft of its Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS), prepared in response to a permit application submitted by Pebble Limited Partnership in November.

A formal announcement of its availability is anticipated March 1, and a public comment period will run from March 1-May 31, 2019.

Public hearings will be held in nine communities, including Naknek, Kokhanok, Newhalen, Igiugig, New Stuyahok, Nondalton, Dillingham, Homer and Anchorage.

The DEIS, which totals 1,400 pages without appendices, can be viewed at the Pebble Project EIS website.
