Sixth Asia-Pacific Trade and Investment Week (11-15 March; Bangkok)
The Trade and Investment Week will be held under the theme 'Navigating Non-tariff Measures towards Sustainable Development'. The Week brings together government officials and other stakeholders every two years for discussions on issues of importance to trade and investment policy making in the region. Drawing on the presence of senior policymakers from across the Asia-Pacific region, the week hosts a number of engaging events related to trade and investment policy making, covering areas such as trade facilitation, trade and investment agreements, science, technology and innovation (STI) policies and responsible business practices. Highlighted events include:
Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD): Empowering people and ensuring inclusiveness and equality (27-29 March; Bangkok)
The 2019 APFSD agenda will address (1) Regional perspectives on the implementation, follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, including in-depth review of the theme and cluster of goals; and (2) Strengthening implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the Asia-Pacific, including the assessment of the progress of the regional road map for implementing the 2030 Agenda in Asia and the Pacific. Why Facts and Think Tanks Matter: Focus on Building a Sustainable Future - Forum to launch the 2018 Global Go to Think Tank Index Report
The event was co-organized by ESCAP; ARTNeT; Chula Global Network, Chulalongkorn University; International Institute for Trade and Development and Mekong Institute. The forum discussed the role of think tanks in providing a public service of shifting through falsehood and truths, in being policy shapers, in particular look at the role of “factfulness” in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. ARTNeT Secretariat is also delighted to announce that ARTNeT has featured for the third year in a row in the global Best Think Tank Networks rank of the just released 2018 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report.  More...
