"Without a sense of caring, there can be no sense of community."
 - Anthony J. D'Angelo

Anthony may be on to something here. We try our best to foster and pamper a community spirit at The Working Capitol, and indeed our neighbourhood of Keong Saik Road. But without a care, for our neighbours, our friends, and our environment, what else really is left of a community?

We'll tell you.

PUB CRAWLING BACK TO YOU

Took us a while to get our hangovers out of the way and thank you for a great night out, but here we are!

On the 13th of February, we organised what we so eloquently called the Stupid Cupid Pub Crawl. Starting at our Beer Garden, we took members and guests alike down Keong Saik Road for a broken-hearted pub crawl, sharing heinous stories of our exes with every drink and shot.

More than that, though, it was a chance to share giggles with our neighbours from down the road, and for all of us to get comfortable with each other - even if over a disastrous tale of someone we used to date! Huge thanks to our partners in crime for the night at Lime House, Gaston, and Neon Pigeon.

Lots of fun was had, lots of experiences were shared, and we're so glad to have made so many new friends that way. Thank you for making it all possible! We've got a few pictures from the night if you'd like to relive it with us.
PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN

THE WORKING CAPITOL COMMUNITY

We've been having fun with our community events for our members! Our vision was to create wholesome events that make the break away from our desks all the more fun, but also to get more of our eclectic neighbourhood involved. Let us share one with you!
Breaking Bread; it's all in the name. Along Keong Saik Road, and indeed in the neighbourhood of Kreta Ayer and Chinatown lay a host of eating options, many of them kopitiams and hawkers who've staked their claim in the neighbourhood, and withstood the test of time.

And as the preservation of the hawker culture in Singapore gains momentum, we thought we'd do our bit by bringing our members, local or otherwise, for a lunch out and simply, break bread.

You ought to join! We host our Breaking Bread outings every alternate Thursday, with the next one on the 28th, meeting at The Working Capitol. RSVP if you'd like to be added to our Whatsapp group for the latest craves!

WHILE YOU'RE HERE...

Setting an example for the future of our cities shouldn't be an expensive endeavour. Alas, the Singapore Urban Design Festival, as profound as it may be, is a costly challenge. LOPELAB need your help to make it all happen and fuel the movement towards human-centred and sustainable cities.
HELP MY CITY

PAST LOPELAB VENTURES

You must have heard of them already, but here are a couple of cool initiatives that LOPELAB have been responsible for:
Urban Design Summit; a two day summit tackling the importance of urban design.
Urban Ventures; a ground-up placemaking initiative that works with various neighbourhoods in Singapore.
