Because of God's Love For You, Love Your Enemies!
The 7th Sunday after the Epiphany

Joseph’s brothers were terrified out of their minds (Genesis 45:3) when they realized that Joseph, their brother was alive. He was the prime minister of Egypt! He could pay them back for all the evil they had done to him. But Joseph treated his undeserving brothers with love. How will we treat our enemies?

This Sunday's Topic/Idol: POLITICS

What’s the main problem with the world? Think carefully.

If you suggest that something other than sin is the main problem with the world, you’ll almost inevitably end up falsely asserting that something not inherently bad is, in fact, evil. Furthermore, if you insinuate that something other than Jesus is the answer to the world’s problem, you’ll end up foolishly “idolizing” something that is not inherently good.

For many people, this is the case when it comes to political ideology. It doesn’t take too much imagination to see how a good thing, like patriotism, if turned into an ultimate thing (that is, idolized), can turn into racism and imperialism.

Lets learn together what God has to say!
See you Sunday at 8:30 am!

Welcome Connor, Miranda, Megan and Ty!
You are a blessing!
We thank God for you!
Time in the Word is always well spent.  In fact, it is essential for the spiritual health of every Christian.

Set the tone for the day.
Gain the proper perspective on life.
Find strength for the challenges you face .
Drink in real peace that lasts.
Listen to the one who knows you better than anyone tell you what you need to hear.

There is a devotion for everyone for everyday HERE.
Ash Wednesday is just around the corner when once again we will join together to observe the beginning of the Lenten season. Before that first service, a soup supper will be held down in the fellowship hall.  All are welcome.  There is a sign up sheet in the lobby, on the table under the picture board, for those who wish to help provide this meal.  Soup, sandwiches and desserts are requested. Thank you for your help.
PLEASE NOTE:
Due to overwhelming demand, the time for the Nuggets game next week (Feb 28) has been changed to 8:30 pm because it will be nationally televised.

Please let Toni Koelpin know if this changes your RSVP

Remember in Prayer...
  • Carrie Stewardson - Currently in a rehab facility recovering from a broken wrist.
  • Daniel Greene (grandson of Donna Greene) - Daniel was in a severe car accident.  He is continuing to recover at Craig in Denver.
  • Miah Moore - Experiencing burdensome back pain.
  • Pam Griffin (Morning Westerberg's mother) - Battling cancer. Pray that the Lord might open her heart that she might see the light of God's love in Jesus.
  • Loraraine Gordero -  (friend of Chris and Jamie Collyard) battling colon cancer.
  • Merlin Camrud - Experiencing significant pain and challenges related to his physical health.
Don't forget to pray for the work we are able to do together as part of the WELS (Wisconsin Ev. Lutheran Synod). Here is a suggestion:
  • Congregational Counseling – Lord Jesus, you gave yourself for the Church and continue to bless us with many gifts, including those who serve our synod through WELS Congregational Counseling. Bless these men and their support staff as they listen carefully to challenges congregations are facing. Give them the wisdom to provide helpful guidance to churches so that more souls can be reached with your saving Word. Amen.
Prayer request? Email Pastor Koelpin.
