Hello <<First Name>>,

It's like a Traffic Light

Last week it was red; this week it's green. Green Hats that is

And unlike my usual last-minute blog posts, this time there is ENOUGH time for St Patrick's Day, almost a month. So I present to you, 11 Lucky Green Hats which range on the Hat Richter Scale.

Where do you think this Tall Emerald Top Hat fits on the Hat Richter Scale?

So pleased to see that the Indie Knit and Spin shared my hats on their website and social media. Rather foolishly, I had forgotten that I had given them these images. :)

As part of the event, vendors (that's me!) are supposed to bring 25 items to give away during the fiber fair's 3-5pm time slot.

This puzzled me. There's no way that I have any 'spare' hats....nor 25 items of my earlier investigations in felted jewelry.

Helpfully, the organizers suggested using mini-skeins of yarn or stitch markers for knitting. Not being a knitter, this was unfamiliar terrain. Instead, I decided to make something. But what? It had to something that I could make quickly and something that visitors to a fiber fair might be interested in.

Presenting -- Sheep!

Must say, these needle-felted sheep pins were quite satisfying to make! I used up some of the of felt that I have from my hat off-cuts. It's nice to make use of these.

As I didn't have enough proper pin backs (and didn't want to drive to JoAnn Fabric's in the Snowzilla,) I used safety pins that I already had.

Verdict: The sheep look quite adorable pinned through one of my business cars. I had so much fun making them, that I made 30 of them! (Maybe this a form of
procrast-craftination?)

Anyway, please come to  The Indie Knit & Spin at the Ace Hotel in Pittsburgh, this Saturday, February 23rd.

The event is from 12-5 PM, with my Sheep Give-Away during 3-5 PM.

Each Sheep Pin includes a 10% discount code that can be used at the event or on my website

If you cannot make it to Pittsburgh, you can use the code on my website- IKS10

There are now 50 hats listed online, out of the 80 items that I will be bringing. Woo!

Until next time, felt-fully yours,

Signature of me, Juliane

P.S.:  Via social media, I've come across the charming, photo-collages of The Man in a Hat, supposedly the only men's hat shop in Hong Kong. While he doesn't have a website yet, he is on Facebook and Instagram

He's much better at Photoshop than me! I like the way that he plays with scale, sometimes being Tom Thumb-sized inside a fedora.
Please feel free to share this newsletter with friends who like felt, hats or creativity!
