This week we are continuing to learn about Westward Expansion through the Mexican-American War. Students will be researching and creating a comic strip to describe the events that led to the expansion of the U.S.

This week students will finish Section 8. The topics that will be covered in that Section include: Exponents, Writing Decimals as Fractions, Writing Fractions as Decimals, Comparing Fractions by Converting, Finding Unstated Information in Fraction Problems, Capacity, Area of a Triangle, and Using a Constant Factor to Solve Ration Problems.

- Test on Tuesday Insha'Allah.
- Group 1: Students will be start working on Lesson 5.They're working on reading the story and learning new grammars.
- Reading log sheet and the story summery are due Monday.

Group 1

- Students are working on the attributes of the letters.

Group: 2

- Students are working on Al-Qaida An-Nuraniyah lesson 12
- Each student memorization will be written at his/her planner.
- Practice lesson 12

This week, we will focus on writing a persuasive letter. We will learn about and practice using the progressive tenses. We will also finish our practice GRADE test and review test-taking skills in preparation for testing next week. A new IXL assignment has been posted on the website and is due Monday, March 4th. For information about assignments and upcoming due dates, please check the Language Arts Homework section of the 5th-grade website.

This week students will be reviewing for their test over the different earth cycles and photosynthesis. Their test will be Thursday.
