Polar Vortex - Hygge Cure

While we are all hunkered down in our homes, or braving the slopes, we're all feeling the chill. Luckily, GFF has planned our next winter concert, and you can look forward to some cozy times with us while supporting "health for all".
Winter Concert in March

Looking to get cozy? GFF knows what to do! Join us for our winter concert on March 10th with harpist Deborah Nyack. We'll have warm drinks, fondue, and friends. Tickets are $25 at the door - more gets a bigger tax recipts. Please share our event page widely - everyone is welcome!
Tororo News

We had been asked by our Ugandan partners to rebuild their student residence for rural training in Tororo a number of years ago. What was constructed with heart and passion by Newfoundlander Dr. John Ross had been decimated by termites in the ensuing decades. After the walls became fragile, they filled with snakes! Their top priority is keeping resident doctors safe, and had hoped to do more training at this site. For three years, we've been working with CRA to change our "charitable objects" (activities) and were finally successful. Please help us in fundraising for this important cause.
Join GFF and our sponsored delegates at WONCA Africa

We are thrilled to be working with the hosts of WONCA (World Organization of Family Doctors) for the Africa regional conference coming up in June. GFF will be sponsoring 3 faculty and 2 resident partners to attend - from Rwanda, Kenya, and Uganda. Register and submit an abstract through their website.
Help with Crowdfunding - What is our Story...

We have been working behind the scenes on a crowdfunding project for quite a while now. One of the amazing students on our team - Muhammad Ahmad - created this video to describe how important it is to sponsor residents to do Family Medicine. Now experts are going to be helping us further, as recipients of Part 2 of Propellus' "Tell Your Story" project. Stay tuned for our launch, and please email us if you can contribute to the project.
We appreciate your support of our projects so much, and hope that you've been enjoying our fundraising activities as much as we have! Please reach out to us at globalfamilymed@gmail.com to find out how to get involved, to raise funds at your school or workplace, or for a copy of our annual report. You can always make a donation through Canada Helps, with the option to specify what project you want to support, such as:

Help get a doctor working where they're needed most...
Help provide student scholarships for training in Uganda...
Help our friends in Nepal, where they train doctors to work in rural areas...
