A Spring season filled with art, design and history
This spring sees a fabulous variety of new tours, from ‘What not to miss at Tate Modern’ to ‘Exquisite Jewellery’ in the recently refurbished V&A Jewellery Gallery.

For the Tate Modern highlights tour, we will be expertly led by art lecturer Dr Richard Stemp who will put the collection in an international art historical context and will talk about the most famous pieces such as Mark Rothko’s Seagram Murals and Salvador Dali’s Lobster Telephone.

This year we are celebrating two very special birthdays with the bicentenary of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, both born in 1819. To commemorate them - Prince Albert in particular - we will do a walk in South Kensington and discover more about his vision for the area – often nicknamed ‘Albertopolis’. 

Finally, we will take the Thames Clipper out to Greenwich and have a look at the recently restored ceiling in the Royal Naval College’s Painted Hall, one of the most spectacular baroque interiors in Europe. Its ceiling and wall decorations were conceived and executed by Sir James Thornhill.
