Sarah Crowe has done it again! The 2017 Australian Winemaker of the Year (James Halliday, 2016) has released another set of absolutely stunning, drop-dead gorgeous, hall-mark Australian Red Blends, with our first glimpse of a Chardonnay thrown in for good measure. Sarah joined Yarra Yering in September 2013 as Winemaker and in the subsequent years has taken helm of one of the best Yarra Valley producers, and solidified their spot at the top of Australian Wine. With one eye on the Vineyard, Sarah's philosophy is as such - "The better the fruit quality and condition, the less winemaking influence required to deliver premium wine". As such over the last few vintages, more focus is on larger format oak usage, hand plunging and gentle tannin extraction, making sure that the wines are as much about elegance as they are about power. Furthermore the influence of stems during fermentation can be made, by the addition of stalks in baskets, for easy removal when there is just enough tannin present. It is this meticulous detail that is now evident in this set of 2016 releases that allow one of Australia's best to only get better.

2016 Yarra Yering Dry Red No.1 - $120 per bottle
Cabernet 66%, Merlot 16%, Malbec 15%, Petit Verdot 3%
Sourced from the first plantings at Yarra Yering - Cabernet and Malbec in 1969. Merlot plantings from 1990.

97 Points James Halliday

Sourced from original 1969 Plantings of Shiraz and Marsanne. Additional plantings of Shiraz, Mataro and Viognier from 1984-1995.
Perfume and mixed berry fruits, florals and spice. Complex, rich and generous.
97 Points James Halliday

2016 Yarra Yering Agincourt Cabernet Malbec - $110 per bottle

2016 Yarra Yering Underhill Shiraz - $110 per bottle

2016 Yarra Yering Chardonnay - $110 per bottle

Whole bunch pressed - directly to oak for fermentation. Natural yeasts, no malolactic - matured in 30% new oak for 10 Months in an underground cellar.
Ginger cream spice, generous stonefruits with weight and volume. Fine tannin framework.
95 Points James Halliday

Marc Bredif Vouvray
With its majestic cellars in the heart of the Touraine, Marc Brédif has been one of the most famous Vouvray (Chenin Blanc) and Chinon (Cabernet Franc) houses since 1893. When Baron de Ladoucette took over the house in 1980, he breathed new life into the century old winery, while preserving its traditions. Today, Marc Brédif continues to produce Vouvray and Chinon wines of the finest quality. The history of the wines of Vouvray is directly linked to the religious history of Touraine. From the 4th century onwards, the monks owned most of the vineyards, including the best growths. The cellars of Marc Brédif are among the biggest and most beautiful of the appellation and the digging of the tuffe hillsides to make them began in the 8th century.

We have been lucky enough to procure a small selection of museum stock direct from the cellars of Marc Bredif.
There is limited stock available so it is first in first serve.

Vouvray Grande Année is a selection kept for longer aging. The wine is sweet with level of sugar between 30 and 70g/L of sugar.
1995 Marc Bredif Vouvray Grande Annee - $95 per bottle
1990 Marc Bredif Vouvray Grande Annee - $115 per bottle
1985 Marc Bredif Vouvray Grande Annee - $145 per bottle

Vouvray Collection represents only the best vintages of sweet Vouvray made with noble rot harvest. They are exceptional wines with a level of sugar of more than 60g/L
1990 Marc Bredif Vouvray Collection Series - $295 per bottle (3 bottles avail.)
1989 Marc Bredif Vouvray Collection Series - $310 per bottle (3 bottles avail.)
