March 1: Intelligence Community Postdoctoral Research Program
Recent Ph.D. graduates or doctoral students who will soon complete their degrees are invited to apply for annual stipends that range from $75,000 to $79,000.

March 1: NCI training Program (T32) in Translational Genomics
Qualified predoctoral or postdoctoral candidates will be educated and trained in the areas of translational genomics and precision medicine related to cancer.

March 8: Andrew W. Mellon Grad Research Seminar Fellowships (link 1) (link 2)
This is a year-long course that reaches beyond the objectives of a typical graduate seminar by experimenting with existing models of research. The seminar leader will select five doctoral students to enroll and receive a $7000 stipend supplement.

March 25: Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad
Conduct research abroad for eight weeks to one year. Funding available up to $15,000/award.

April 1: Great Minds in STEM Scholars
Applicants must be of Hispanic descent and/or must significantly demonstrate leadership or service within the underserved community. Scholarships are merit-based and range from $500-$10,000.

Chasing the City Frames: From Hong Kong to Houston
Through March 24. Sewell Hall 402.
This exhibit brings freeze-frame images from stop motion animations made by four Hong Kong artists, ruminating about their hometown to Houston, and allows some of these frames to start a new journey in a new narrative. More.

Planetary collision that formed the moon made life possible on Earth
Earth Science grad student Damanveer Grewal was lead author on a new paper which found that Earth's life-giving elements are from a collision with a Mars-sized mystery planet with a sulfur-rich core. This collision also formed Earth's moon! Pictured are the team: Gelu Costin, Chenguang Sun, Grewal, Rajdeep Dasgupta and Kyusei Tsuno. Read more.
