GeoBeer #25 Review and
Registration for GeoBeer #26

Hi all!

This time, we have a chock-full-of-news-letter for you! Firstly, we hhave our review of GeoBeer #25 from the end of January. Secondly, we have the announcement for our next event. — Ready?

Let's go:

Review of GeoBeer #25

On January 31st, we could celebrate our anniversary GeoBeer with a new sponsor in Bern. KKGEO-CCGEO, the Conference of Cantonal Geoinformation Offices, generously sponsored and hosted us in the House of the Cantons.

We started off the event by introducing our new team member, Anne Wegmann. Next, Romedi Filli of KKGEO-CCGEO welcomed us to the event on behalf of our sponsors. We were thrilled: clearly, KKGEO-CCGEO have paid close attention to the line in our manifesto that says “We aim to have events in all parts of Switzerland and welcome everybody: all genders, creeds and colours, citizen or expat, speaking French, Italian, Geman, Romansh, English, Python, C# or Javascript.” Romedi gave his welcome note in Romansh! (Rumantsch; we're not sure if Rumantsch Grischun or another flavour :-).

This highlight was followed by several others: talks by Daniel Gantenbein (HMQ), Martin Christen (IGEO FHNW), and Christa Hostettler (BPUK) with kind assistance of her daughter and her art!

You can see a compilation of Twitter highlights, slides of Martin's talk as well as more of the fantastic photographs taken by KKGEO-CCGEO'S Joon Ki (check out his Twitter handle :-) on our GeoBeer #25 review page:

Registration for GeoBeer #26: Open next Monday

As we are a bit behind with the #25 review due to holidays and sickness, we already have GeoBeer #26 lined up.

We'll meet in Bern in the ImpactHub (like previously for GeoBeer #19). The evening will be courtesy of our newest Sponsor: OPENGIS.ch. Both the crew of OPENGIS.ch and our own are very excited to welcome you in Bern. We will have interesting talks.

The event page for #26 is already online, but the ticketing area is not open yet. We will open the registration process next Monday, February 25th, in the evening at 19:00 sharp. As usual, it's first come, first serve.

That's it for now. We wish you a pleasant rest of the week and an open Monday evening. We'd be thrilled to meet you in Bern on March 21st!

Be and do good.
