Sun Devil Golf Letterwinner,

As we continue to embark on the new era of Sun Devil Golf at Papago Golf Course, we also prepare to close the door on a very successful chapter in the history of our golf programs.
 
As a valued member of the Sun Devil Family and a golf letterwinner, we wanted you to be aware later today it will be announced ASU Karsten Golf course will officially close in May. The closure includes both the course and the clubhouse. The Hobbs House, which I know was a second home to many of you during your collegiate career, will potentially be repurposed for Sun Devil Athletics for use of other programs.
 
For 30 years, Karsten Golf Course embodied all of the tremendous qualities our men’s and women’s golf programs possess: The course was home to a combined nine NCAA titles between our two teams, played host to countless legendary individual performances, and saw fabled coaches walk its grounds.
 
While this legacy lives on at Papago Golf Course at the new home of Sun Devil Golf, The Thunderbirds Golf Complex, we fully understand the impending closure of Karsten is bittersweet. We appreciate and understand the history you made there, and will provide you the opportunity to celebrate the successes and memories of Karsten before the course closes in May. More details will be shared in the coming weeks and months.
