New & Important Reminders

Guatemala Celebration

Mark the date! Join us on Saturday, April 13 for a Banquet Dinner to celebrate our Guatemala Mission Experiences. More details to come in March.

We need your help! We are trying to get in contact with young adults from past mission trips to Guatemala. If you have an email address or a phone number for any of the past trip attendees, please let Emily know at emilyready@standrewsriverheights.com

Chapel

You may have noticed there are now tables and chairs set up in the Chapel. The Service Team decided to try out the Chapel as a meeting room after the Hungarian Church left in May 2018. We have noticed, since the tables and chairs were added, the Chapel has been used on a much more consistent basis by various different interest groups, as well as outside groups.

Peace Candle

The Peace Candle is an initiative of the Worship Group. You will find these packages in a cupboard in the Narthex. The Peace Candle is meant to be a gift from the St. Andrew's congregation to another congregation. If you find yourself travelling to another city or country and plan to visit another church, please take one of the Peace Candle packages with you to share "Peace" with another church. If you are also aware someone is attending our church service from another church, you may also offer them a Peace Candle package. See Ruth McKenzie or Rita Swan for more information and to get a candle package.

Anna Blair Circle

Join the Anna Blair Circle for a tour and refreshments at Dalnavert Museum, the Queen Anne style restored home of Hugh John Macdonald, a former premier of Manitoba, on Thursday, March 7 at 1:30pm. The mansion, with Victorian period furnishings, is located at 61 Carlton Street, south of Broadway. Some parking is available at the Museum; metered street parking is also available. Cost of the tour and coffee or tea is $6.50 per person. Tickets (which must be purchased before the event) are available following the Sunday church service or by calling Iris McKay at 204-885-2156 or Doreen Craddock at 204-475-3263.

Outreach

Spare change collection for Sunday, February 24 is for 1JustCity-Oak Table for underwear for those in need.

For February and March, we will be collecting new and/or slightly used backpacks for February and March. Bring them into St. Andrew's and we will ensure 1JustCIty-Oak Table receives them.
