Beer Sailing Club Annual Membership Renewal
Hello Everyone

It’s Membership Renewal time again so summer must be coming!  We have some great events, activities and new initiatives planned for the coming season with lots to look forward to!  We will send out regular Club Newsletters, by email, to keep you up to date with what’s going on so please keep us up to date with your current email address.

We have restructured the Membership Renewal this year, by abolishing the ‘Sailing Member’ and ‘Social Member’ labels, in order to encourage any Members who would like to ‘have a go’ out on the water. We are building on the ‘Open Sailing Sundays’ we started last year, with Kit Mundy heading up six ‘Super Saturday’ Development Sailing Sessions.  We will also be holding new ‘Club Clinics’ which will be short, informal training sessions on anything from helping out in the Race Hut to rigging a boat if you are new to sailing.

We plan to open the bar for all members on Sunday lunchtimes and Thursday evenings, starting in April, so please pop in for a pint before your roast or come and watch the sailing and the sun going down with a drink on the terrace on a sunny summer evening.

Angie Cromwell and her team have put together a packed programme of social events, kicking off with a Quiz on the 23
rd of March and the Start of Season Supper on Saturday 6th April - the Wednesday Coffee Mornings restart on 20th March from 10:00 until 12:00.

The Sailing Club is run by its Members for its Members.  We’d like to encourage everyone to take part in the running of the Club – even if it’s just in a very small way – as it is a great way to get to know people and feel more involved.  We have extended the volunteer options on the Membership Renewal Form to try to be more inclusive – we understand not everyone can offer to run a social event but if you’d be happy to provide a cake for a coffee morning or do a bit of washing up then that would be great.  If you can take a turn in the Race Hut, be an extra person on the Patrol Boat or serve behind the bar then full training will be given so don’t let a lack of experience put you off – and you won’t be left on your own even after training.  We ask that you choose one duty per adult member, but feel free to select more than one option if you are happy to be more involved.

You can renew your membership online using the button below or you can download a Membership Form to print out if you prefer – paper copies of the form are also available in the Clubhouse.  Full details of how to make the subscription payment are on both the online form and the paper application forms – For BACS transfers, the bank account details are the same as last year, please include your name as the reference and please submit the form and make the payment at the same time.
