Now that Spring is almost upon us, you will see a nice upswing in Tavern activities.  Our major offerings include the following:

3/5 – Fat Tuesday.  Make reservations to join us in this celebration and dine on Jambalaya, Red Beans and Rice, Gumbo, Shrimp Po-Boys, Shrimp Creole, and Crawfish Etouffee.

3/13 – TNT Trivia Night.  Come enjoy this great opportunity to show off your knowledge of senseless information with your Spring Creek neighbors! Starting at 6:30PM

3/15 – Lexus of Richmond Happy Hour.  RSVP to this event, test drive a Lexus, and enjoy a beverage afterwards in the Celebration Room.  Reservations only…

3/16 – St. Patrick’s Day Celebration.  Reserve your table for this fun evening and enjoy Corned Beef and Cabbage, Fish and Chips, Irish Lamb Stew, and Irish Seafood Stew.  In addition, our favorite bagpipers, Dave Monteith and the gang, will be here to kick start the night. 5:00 - 8:00PM

3/26 – Blind Wine Tasting Event.  These have been so popular so far! Come out and enjoy 6 different wines and rate them to see if they should be on our Tavern wine list. Reservations are required, so be on the look-out!

3/30 – Demo Day on the practice range. Come out on this Saturday to “test drive” all of the newest golf equipment from Callaway, Mizuno, and Taylor Made. Get fitted for your new clubs!

Spring Creek Community Club
This month we feature our OUTREACH committee serving Louisa County Resource Council  (cardboard flattened and placed in shed, clothing, food, plastic grocery bags left in box in library, and now a new dental program) and the Belmont Clothing Center with clothing and home goods.
Louisa County Resource Council Dental Program
The Louisa County Resource Council has initiated a Dental Program addressing a critical need for Dental Care in Louisa. With over 56% of adults in Louisa not receiving dental care, the general health issues this contributes to are dramatic.  The Dental Care program (for details click HERE) as described is designed to provide emergency dental care in addition to an initial evaluation and cleaning.  The goal is to address the emergency issue and to establish a working relationship between the Dentist and Patient for future care.  The cost, $300 for the initial visit for each patient, would be covered by a voucher received through the Resource Council.  I hope that as a community, we can fund a number of those $300 vouchers (unit of care).  The voucher contribution could be done by an individual or a group (dividing the unit up into a smaller per capita amount).  As we have done with the Cardboard Program where we realize a regular contribution of over $200 per month, a sustaining contribution provides stability and continuity to the program.  Please consider this option as it makes a direct, meaningful impact on the Louisa Community, our neighbors.  Questions or donations: contact Greg Shasby gshasby@gmail.com 859-200-6357

CENTRAL VIRGINIA BAPTIST ASSOCIATION CLOTHING CENTER

Community Security & Neighborhood Watch

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH – “WE LOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER”
The Spring Creek Neighborhood Watch invites your participation as a resident of our community.  Your involvement will help keep our community safer and will support the work of our gate personnel at the front entrance.  “Frequently Asked Questions” will help you understand our purposes and operation.
Residents at Spring Creek have concerns about the recent home invasion in our community. That invasion has been reported to the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office. The homeowner involved noted the very professional way the responding officers handled the situation. We will provide updates at the Advisory Council meetings as those updates become available.
In the meantime, you may find the two links below useful.

10 Ways to Stop Criminals from Choosing Your Home

Use These Tips to Protect You and Your Family Against Home Invasions

As suggested to us at the most recent Advisory Council Meeting (2/12) by the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, observant and vigilant neighbors are one of the best ways to help keep our community safer and support the work of our security personnel at the front entrance gate. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Community Neighborhood Security and Neighborhood Watch, contact Bob Kuhnle  Neighborhoodwatch@springcreekliving.com

Thanks to the HEART HEALTH Month committee Gertie Sanders, Kathy Cooney, Tracy Alpern,Beth McIvor and Sue Grenert for all the heart healthy information provided during the month of February. Learning to use the AED located in the Sports Club was extremely beneficial  for all in attendance. The panel discussion with a cardiologist and nutritionist provided excellent information for improving health and recognizing when medical intervention might be necessary. The calendars with activities beneficial to all across the lifespan were a daily reminder of the importance of exercise, activities and food choices. Thank  you for caring about our community and providing educational opportunities.
County Supervisor, Bob Babyok
