Pure In the Community
New Community Partnership
We are excited to announce our newest community partnership with S.O.A.R. (Survivors Overcoming Abuse Restored). SOAR is a place where women who have been sexually abused as children can find help and healing. They provide a safe place where recovered women can give support to those just starting their journey. Our Solutions Child Abuse Prevention Program is a great partnership with this group in our efforts to eliminate childhood sexual abuse.
Pure Board of Trustees Mary & Jim Munford and Shari McCutcheon enjoy the evening supporting SOAR at its recent Healing Hearts Banquet.
County Wide Prevention Efforts
Our staff attended a recent Clark County CARES prevention meeting at Ivy Tech as part of the Clark County CARES Fact Week to learn more about prevention efforts in Clark County as they relate to drug issues. Clark County Health Officer Dr. Yazel shared some encouraging statistics for Clark County and many other prevention agencies were in the room sharing what other prevention efforts were being offered to students through the schools and outside organizations. It was very encouraging to hear counselors and educators who have incorporated Pure programs in their schools to praise our efforts in helping students understand their value and encourage healthy habits and relationships.
Clark County Health Officer Dr. Eric Yazel shares the work that has been done, and continues to be done, in Clark County to combat drug use and overdose.
Welcome New & Returning Instructors
Solutions K-2 will be presented in March and April to every Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade class in the Greater Clark County Schools. Our volunteers are trained and ready to go with all the necessary supplies to present this program. Thank you to all of our staff, volunteers and donors who are making this program possible.
Preparing 10 sets of props, volunteer training materials, and the purchases of all of this has required "all hands on deck" at many times to meet our deadlines to launch and deliver this new program.

Volunteer Trainings
This month we have added several new volunteer instructors to help keep up with the demand. From our Solutions Elementary program to our SRA middle and high school programs, we trained 15 instructors this month on new curriculum. Whether they have come on board as a first-time instructor, or adding another grade to their repertoire, this increases our ability to reach the student request need.
Trainings are flexible and held during day or evening hours. If you have an interest in being trained on any of our curriculum, let us know and we can add you to the list for the next training.
Sandy Sorrells trains returning instructors Dennis Shireman and Ann Carruthers and
new instructor Rhonda Brawner on the MS2 Curriculum (7th Grade).
