God’s Big Picture
As you’ve hopefully already seen, this term we are doing an overview of the Bible. Over 9 weeks we will discover how the whole Bible fits together. Each week there is a picture to accompany the teaching. Below you will see these pictures with their explanations, I hope these will be helpful for you as a family as your reflect on what is taught at church. All kids are making a booklet of the pictures to take home at the end of the series. At our meeting we spoke about the memory verses and how we can help our kids to learn them. Below are the memory verses we will be doing in this series. 1 Peter 3:18 is available on iTunes. If you have specific ideas on rewards or charts for memorising verses, please chat to me.
Here is a summary of our meeting
What is going well?
•    All age talk brings unity across the church
•    The Question at the end of the service - just the one question. Could put on social media the following day. Could have a kid ask the question.
•    Holiday program good to the see the kids mix together. More age appropriate for the older kids. Possibly give the older kids a role in leading younger ones. Ban glitter!!

What could be improved?
•    keep being willing to tweak things for the sake of where the kids are at.

Other
•    Adelaide & Max are becoming junior leaders, once a month.
•    We are starting 3 groups this year, 2y/o - grade 1. Grade 2- grade 5. Grade 6 & up
•    Generally agreed that the older group was not working this year because of the wide age range. Sam & Gaylene will alternate fortnights leading the older group, it will be like a home group meeting fortnightly, the other fortnight they will stay in the service will have a book to write sermon notes.

Group Names
seeds - 2y/o - grade 1
shoots- grade 2 - 5
saplings - grade 6 & up
The plan is to test these out over this term and make a decision in the holidays.

Out there Ideas for Kids Ministry
Things to build relationships.
Place where our kids will bring their friends (this also links with first idea, place that’s fun and can bring friends etc)
Decorating the kids church spaces, give them more ownership….
Give the names a term --- if we are happy. A holiday program idea is to decorate the respective spaces in in light of their names.

Please continue to dream and pray big for our children, youth and whole church. We want to be a Church for Circular Head, making disciples of Jesus. If you have ideas, I want to hear them!

In Him,
Lyn Nankervis
