Halton Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Charter

HEDR has some exciting news! We are currently working on developing a Halton Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Charter. The Charter Project is an initiative by the Halton Equity & Diversity Roundtable to create a living document based on feedback from Halton's residents and community stakeholders. The purpose of this Charter is to guide us together towards embracing equity, diversity and inclusion in the region.

As a community, we hope this project will act as a unique document to combat systemic barriers that exist in society and work towards ongoing efforts in fostering inclusion and equitable practices.  This Project can help us influence discussions and efforts in our region that address discrimination and inequities, and create a collaborative approach to move towards positive change.

To make this happen, we have hired a "Community Animator", a Halton resident with lived experience, to conduct multiple community consultations across the region throughout this month, focusing discussions on equity, diversity and inclusion and what these mean to the Halton community!  So far, we have visited Home Suite Hope, Halton Community Housing, and are on our way to HMC Connections, Positive Space Network and more!

We need your feedback to guide the development of the Charter...We would like to hear from your experiences. Please take a few minutes to fill out the Charter Project Survey by clicking here: Charter Survey

All data collected from the surveys and community consultations will be used to formalize Halton's Equity and Diversity Charter!
