A friend like you is the best valentine, <<First Name>>!
It's been four years since I left my corporate job to go freelance—and it's been satisfying and challenging. I've been thinking a lot about what it takes to make it work.
What's the most important part? YOU! I'm incredibly appreciative of your enthusiasm for my work, your confidence in recommending me to others, and/or simply sharing one of my books with a friend. Your encouragement means everything! Thank you. ♥
I recently 'Marie Kondo-ed' my website to showcase some new, joy-sparking projects. I'm looking to broaden my scope to include more design work like logos, websites, and marketing campaigns. I'm still making children's books and other forms of illustration, but also really enjoy working across creative lines.
I'd love to know what you think of the updated site! I will be available soon to take on new projects, so please pass the site along to others who may be a fit.
(Drumroll, please...) Check out the new LoriDraws.com.

The Great British Baking Show is the perfect antidote to the roller coaster news cycle. I lack any and all kitchen skills, but there's something about this charming show that inspired me to learn how to bake (these are my Viennese Whirls!) Here's why I'm not the only one who is obsessed.

The Unwinding of the Miracle is a stunning-yet-gut-wrenching posthumous memoir of Julie Yip-Williams, a Brooklyn mother of two who chronicled her battle with cancer. This review in The New York Times punched me in the gut and I had to read the book immediately.

The joy from running the New York City Marathon is still going strong! Did you know that today, February 14, is the final day to enter the lottery for a chance to run in 2019? Do not throw away your shot!
