February 20, 2019

Dear Students, Families, Alumni, Parishioners, and Friends of ASB School,

Welcome back!  I hope the planned break was as - if not more - restful than the snow interruptions of the past two weeks.  Since there has only been one full day of school between my last letter and this, I will keep it short and sweet with some nuts & bolts reminders:
  • Principal for the Day - Tomorrow is our first Principal for the Day, Grace Acarregui. Students will get Top Pot donuts in the morning and chocolate milk at lunch. Students may have comfy free dress - still school appropriate and able to play outside.

  • Intent Forms - Please be sure your family has returned their intent form for next year.

  • Mass this weekend - Join us at mass this weekend as our first graders lead us in prayer.  8:30 at Assumption and 9:30 at St. Bridget.  All students should be in school uniform. A note to in-parish families - please remember that regular mass attendance is a requirement of receiving in-parish tuition.  As we approach registration for next year, please be mindful of your commitments to time, talent, and treasure at your parishes to maintain in-parish status.

  • State of the School - Mark your calendars to attend on of our mandatory State of School meetings on March 26 (6:30 PM) or 27 (7:45 AM or 12:00PM).

  • Volunteer hours - A quick reminder that all families are required to complete 35 volunteer hours by June 14th.   You should be reporting your hours via the quarterly reporting forms sent via the Wednesday envelope.  If you haven't yet done so, please download the forms here, complete and send back to school.  You will receive the next form for January-March hours at the end of March.  Per the registration contract, families will be charged $10/hr for incomplete hours that have not been reported.

  • Traffic - Please remember to sign in at the office for your assigned traffic duty on the same day you complete the duty.  It can be before or after you are outside.  Missed traffic duty is subject to a $50 fine.
Have a great rest of the week. Looking forward to a 5-day, normal week soon!

Best,
Kathleen Conklin

Camp ASB 2019 Registration is now OPEN!

Click HERE to download the registration forms

Camp ASB registration forms are now available.  We are still working on the summer calendar, and that information will not be available until around the start of April. However, registration forms and camp dates are now official and we are ready to start accepting registration forms.

This summer, Camp ASB will return to its traditional schedule.  We will be open for 7 weeks in June and July, with the month of August closed for maintenance and faculty in-service work.  We are anticipating construction activities over the course of the summer, and the same cautiousness in which we entered last summer will also guide our plans for this summer.  As we plan for this coming summer, we are always looking to add more activities and new experiences to our schedule, as well as trying to shape our program to best meet the needs of all of our families.  In this regard, we are planning on revising our Camp ASB policies on the use of personal electronics.  We still want to allow students to have freedom and choice in their summer experience, but we also want to respect those families that limit screen time or have specific rules about screen time.  We will have more information on our new plan, when everything is finalized.

I am also happy to announce that Camp ASB will again be partnering with Hoopaholics Basketball to offer a Camp ASB Basketball Camp the week of July 22-26. 2019.

The full Camp ASB calendar and KinderCamp information for 2019 will be available by the beginning of April.
