I have some sad news. I’m leaving Brisbane and will no longer be able to organise the monthly women in sport meetup.

I wanted to say thank you for coming (or thank you for intending to come if you didn’t make it along). Moving to a new city can be tough and you made it all that little bit easier, I love our women in sport community.

I really didn’t have the capacity to do much more than get you all together for a few drinks and a good yarn. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! We had a blast.

I think the meetup could be so much more and I’m sure many of you would like to continue to catch up.

Would you like to take over? It probably will take more than one person and I know many of you said you’d love to help out a bit more.

In our first meeting, you came up with some great ideas on what we could do at these meetups and we have a private forum too. It’s a bit quiet at the moment but it’s a good place to chat without the sexist attacks most of us are subjected to on twitter.

The seeds are well and truly sown!
