Why a brandnew Brand Name?
I like the current name "WOWA" as it is short, clean and it fitted great in the beginnings
but it does no longer meets the needs for our goal to become a leading music-community and a source of inspiration for everyone
and your feedback on this was quite clear:
"wowa.me" is confusing and it inevitably creates a connection to a certain artist (even if that was not my intention at all)
this is hindering both contributors and makers
What would be an appropriate name for a free premium music platform?
The following conditions seemed essential to me:
should be chosen by the community, backers, curators & contributors - YOU
short, clean and easy
at the same time expressive and unique
and supreme discipline: ".com" domain should be still available, as I'm not a fan of alternative domains so far
BTW: After careful consideration I decided that using a name with "un" analogous to "unsplash" would not create a copy-cat but more an homage to the inventors. Furthermore it testifies to the unique "free-do-whatever-you-want" movement.
The following names meeting all criteria mentioned above I think, except your opinion:
Unminus: "add a premium Plus to your projects"
short, clean, fits to the minimalistic design
Makertones: "free premium music for the Maker Community"
solide description of its purpose but still clean
Unmonoton: "unmonotone your projects"
quite long but most interesting pun
Don't worry, all 3 domains already reserved 😊
