125th Anniversary Weekend
The school is open to our parent community during the weekend. Full details of the ticketed events are available on our website here. Must see free events include:

  • 125th Anniversary Exhibition
The Kathleen Bell Gallery has been transformed into a 125th Anniversary Archival Exhibition space, featuring historical artefacts from the School’s history. The Exhibition includes a 10m long timeline wall spanning 125 years of history, re-creations of a turn-of-the-century boarding room and classroom, as well as panel displays celebrating school life through the ages created by current Woodford House students.
  • Woodford House Documentary Screening
The documentary traces the history of Woodford House from its founding in 1894 by Mabel Annie Hodge, right through the decades to present day. The 35-minute film features many candid interviews with staff, students, and principals, past and present, as well as a large selection of archival footage sourced from around the country.
  • Merchandise Stand
The merchandise stand at Woodford House is running at specific times throughout the weekend. 125th Anniversary and School memorabilia will be on sale (eftpos available) and available to all visitors to the School. Items include: bone china mugs, greeting cards, jute bags, key rings, mini Mabel dolls, photo prints, silver bangles and necklaces, tea towels, umbrellas and more. For more information please visit the 125th Anniversary website here.

125th Anniversary Archival Exhibition
We are looking to borrow a glass cabinet for displaying memorabilia and a very old wall clock (1900s style) for our display during the 125th Anniversary weekend. If you have something suitable can you please email archivist@woodford.school.nz.

Woodford House Parents' Association (WHPA)
It is a long-standing tradition that the WHPA provide floral arrangements for special events and Chapel services at Woodford House. We are continuing this tradition for the weekend of the 125th Anniversary.

We are very fortunate to have Debbie Nott and Susanna Todd - Old Girls, past parents and very talented local florists, donating their time and expertise. We need your help too.

There are two ways you can help:

  1. Donating Flowers and Greenery from your garden. We are looking for lots of dahlias, roses, zinnias, hydrangeas, sedum, delphiniums, magnolias, foliage and more! Anything you are able to provide would be gladly received. Please drop off donations in the courtyard before Reception on Wednesday 21 Februrary from 2pm. Members of the WHPA will be at school to collect all donations.
  2. Prepare a “ready to go” vase of flowers that we can place around the school to brighten the path for the School Tours. Please drop off the vases when you bring your daughter to school on Friday morning, 22 February (Please name your vase for easy return).

Our main focus is ensuring that we receive enough flower donations and “ready-to-go” vases. We would love to hear from you if you can help in any way. Please email Mary Rookes maryrookes@hotmail.com or Benita Douglas benitadouglas001@gmail.com with possible contributions and questions.
