Building Capacity Within RDA Wheatbelt
RDAs across Australia have received a small amount of additional funding for capacity building activities. RDA Wheatbelt has allocated a portion of the $5800 to providing professional development to Committee Members and staff; purchasing a subscription to the Regional Australia Institute InSight platform; and web based teleconferencing subscription to enhance the teams productivity.

The RAI InSight is an online interactive map of Regional Competitiveness. It uses 71 indicators in 10 themes to give a snapshot of the competitive position of regions. This will greatly assist RDA Wheatbelt to access data to support economic development within the region.

Deputy Chair Karen Strange and Director Regional Development Mandy Walker were delighted to attend the recent Rural Regional Remote Women's Network of WA, Regional Leadership Masterclass, held at Muresk.

"This was a great opportunity to explore contemporary leadership approaches and compare that to how we do business in the Wheatbelt.” said Mandy.

In March, Mandy will also be attending the Australian Regional Migration Conference - Attracting and Supporting Regional Migration: Innovation, Investment, Skills, Settlement. This is in response issues arising from changes to workforce visa application and assessment criteria and the impact it is having on the region.
