It's been a Mexican fiesta week for Netflix as the streamer said it would launch a Mexico City office later this year, and touted its more than 50 Mexican originals in various stages of production. Fellow streamer Hulu has partnered with Disney's Marvel to produce an animated series based on character Howard The Duck and others. Premium US network, Epix, has launched streaming service Epix Now, priced at $5.99 a month.

HBO is launching its streaming service in Portugal, and has formed a distribution partnership with Vodafone TV. Discovery-owned documentary streaming service CuriosityStream, which launched in 2015, has landed $140m in funding to pay for a global roll-out, while Viacom-backed Indian service, Voot, has pegged 12 pieces of short original content.

Middle Eastern Broadcaster OSN is stepping back from the sports fray, with reports suggesting that, once its existing rights deals end, cricket will stay as its only sport. Bein Sports has opted not to bid for F1 rights in the Middle East, citing piracy concerns, and Eleven Sports has gone national in Portugal, signing partnership deals with all four of the major pay TV operators in in the country.
