ONE MORE WEEK OF FREE RIDES

Don't Try This At Home

After nine months working at IBM, Andres Ocando couldn’t spend one more day sitting in front of a computer. Born and raised in Venezuela, the Washington Sports Club (3222 M St NW) instructor studied computer engineering, but his heart was in fitness. In this week's byGeorge blog, Andres shares why he hid that passion from his mom, how gym culture differs in South America, and why the proliferation of boutique studios has negatively impacted the professionalism of the industry.

For Those Whose Valentine's Day Went Well

Just spit balling here! When you start your online ballot, you must enter your email, name and zip code to enable you to return to your ballot at a later time. Let's show Georgetown some love!

Where's Waldo, For Sophisticated People

Well art you fancy. In collaboration with Batignolles in DC, Artist’s Proof (1533 Wisconsin Ave) is currently hosting the exhibition Reactions to Contemporary Culture, featuring French artists Helder Batista and Gaëtan de Seguin. Responding to pivotal events that have shaped contemporary culture, Batista and de Sequin challenge the traditional boundaries of art and defy easy definition--focusing on the varied and changing cultural landscape of identities, values, and beliefs. The curated selection of works will be on view through March 10.
