Help needed for accepted student parent coffees
|

|
Saturday, March 9th PFLASA is hosting 2 coffees in the LBJ/LASA library (10-11:30am and 1-2:30pm) for parents of accepted students. The goal of the coffees is to share information, answer parents' questions, etc., so we'll need volunteers. Please signup here if you can help set up, greet, and/or visit with parents of accepted students. Students are welcome, but the focus is on having parents of current students available to talk with parents of accepted students.

TX PTA Rally Day is Monday, February 25th
- 8:15am - Meet up with others from ACPTA at House Park (1301 Shoal Creek Blvd, Austin, TX 78701) for free parking and a 20 minute walk over to First United Methodist Church
- 9:30am-11:10am - Priorities Caucus at First United Methodist Church (1201 Lavaca St, Austin, TX 78701) Note - this is a well attended event and seating was hard to find after 9am at Rally Day 2017
- 11:30am-noon - Rally on the South Steps of the Capitol
- Noon-5:00pm - Meetings with Legislators (LBJ/LASA PTSA doesn't have any scheduled yet)

Last week was Sleep Week, and this Thursday (2/21) @ lunch LASA Wellness Counselors are hosting a Doggy Study Break for the kids with Divine Canines.
PFLASA Wellness Committee upcoming dates:
- 3/13 @ 8:20am - PFLASA Wellness Committee meeting in Dr. Susan Palacios' office (room 214)
- March date TBD - a presentation by Corinne Sumpter-Gonzalez and David Gonzalez about how to help our kids have a positive cyber presence and avoid pitfalls
- April date TBD - book talk for parents on "The Teenage Brain"

PTSA Nominating Committee

LBJ/LASA PTSA is in search of a nominating committee to help find a slate of officers for next year's board. For a description of nominating committee duties go to https://www.txpta.org/nominations-elections and email lbjlasaptsa@gmail.com if you are interested. The nominating committee will be elected at a PTSA meeting which is tentatively scheduled 2/21 (final date and time will be posted on the PFLASA Facebook page, LASA Community Listserve, and https://www.lasahighschool.org/. You do not need to be present at the meeting to serve on the nominating committee.

2/26 Chipotle Night for LBJ Baseball
|
|
|
|
Support the LBJ Baseball team by eating in or taking out from the Mueller Chipotle (1201 Barbara Jordan Blvd #1300, Austin, TX 78723) 4-8pm on Tuesday, February 26th. No need to show a flier, just tell the cashier and 33% of the proceeds will go to LBJ Baseball.

Just a reminder the PTSA provides everyone a handy LBJ/LASA family directory, and all LBJ and LASA staff are listed as well.
If you have not logged in yet go to www.DirectorySpot.net
Log in using the button on the top right side of the screen. Your Login is the email address that you used for AISD registration. If you have an existing DirectorySpot password for that email, it should work. However, if you registered with a different email address this year, then that email will be your new login. You can press reset password if you don't remember your password.
Once you've logged in, use Family Search to find your family. Double click the box and it will send you to your family details. Make corrections by clicking on the appropriate box(es) that need editing. Make corrections and scroll down to the bottom of the page and SAVE once changes are made. Corrections can only be made on the website - the phone app is read only.
