I was going to wish you a Happy Galentine's, but I missed it by a day. Oops.
It's one of those 'new holidays' that really fills a need - it celebrates one's friendships. While it originated on a TV show, 'Parks and Recreation,' (which I have yet to watch), I really like the sentiment!
However, in celebration of Galentine's & Valentine's, I've written a new blogpost and added three more felted hats to my Shop - now up to 32 - woooo!
Each of the three has 'a bit of red' in them which is traditional (and predictable ). No lace though.
The first one, this ruby-red, top hat is slightly mad, in the Mad Hatter way.
The other two hats are not as red. One is normal enough; it's a handsome fedora. Whereas, the third hat is an over-the-top, fantasy hat and awaits a special person.
In the photo above, I used the panorama feature on my phone. Kind of cool how it stitches together an 8-foot by 8-foot booth space (and a bunch of other clutter).
What do you think of my new, metal grid wall?
Am experimenting with different ways to display my hats, using ALL the space. Not that I have that much room to practice in. That gray file cabinet is helping me pretend to have an 8-foot long table.
If you want to see this display in action, come to The Indie Knit & Spin. It's happening over at the Ace Hotel in Pittsburgh, on February 23rd. Hours: 12-5PM.
If you knit or crochet ....or need a hat, please do stop by! There's a photo booth in the room, too!
Until next time, felt-fully yours,
P.S.: More over-sized hat fun! Have you ever seen the wild hats that Erykah Badu wears? Here's a Vogue article on the Australian-born, but Tokyo-based, hatmaker Thom O'Brien who is now creating her hats.
Please feel free to share this newsletter with friends who like felt, hats or creativity!
