Forum on Reduce, Reuse, Recycle The Grinnell League of Women Voters will be hosting a Forum on Tuesday, February, 19 at 7:00 pm at the Drake Community Library on the theme of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. The three R’s – reduce, reuse and recycle – all help to cut down on the amount of waste we throw away. They conserve natural resources, landfill space and energy. Plus, the three R’s save land and money communities must use to dispose of waste in landfills.
The purpose of the Forum is to provide an opportunity for a group of panelists to share information and ideas on what households can do reduce, reuse and recycle. On the panel will be Duane Neff, Jennifer Frampton, Rich Dana and Byron Worley. Duane Neff, who is the Public Service Director in Grinnell, will explain the updated policy for recycling in the city of Grinnell. Jennifer Frampton will be able to offer ideas on ways to change our behavior and how to reduce what we throw away. She is the Program Director at SCISWA (South Central Iowa Solid Waste Agency). Rich Dana is currently the Director of Imagine Grinnell who will share ideas on composting. Byron Worley is a member of the Grinnell City Council.
Everyone who wants to learn more about the three R’s is encouraged to attend. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and share ideas as well.
