Local Enterprise Week 2019


Local Enterprise Week kicks off this year on March 4th. We have pulled together a strong line up to support our clients and the general business community including start-ups and growing/ established SMEs.

The focus this year has been on adding maximum value.  Events are spread throughout the DLR region and includes feature events covering subjects from Pricing your Product and Social Media, Sales and Branding to Story Telling and Future Trends.

With some of the best contributors in their fields nationally and internationally these events are not to be missed. The list is too long to share here but can be found in full on our Enterprise Week Website. The week will end with the Peer to Pier Networking Walk which is a great opportunity to meet like-minded people, innovate together and do business in this highly effective networking format.

Early booking is advised as some events are filling up fast and likely to be over-subscribed.

Pricing Guidance Workshop for Start-Ups and SME's​ - Monday 4th March

Pricing is often overlooked and undervalued in many businesses, both start-up and mature, leading to slim or no margins, missed sales targets and in quite a number of cases business failure. This is really not all that surprising as pricing as a topic is complicated, not intuitive and is often said to be more of an art than a science.

Kicking off Local Enterprise Week and delivered by Sagy Gulianka & Matt Johnston, this workshop will really increase attendees' knowledge of this critical area.

Social Media on Steroids - Monday 4th March

​Learn how to maximise your presence online, driving engagement to brands and revenue to the bottom line.

Attendees will learn how to validate their ideas online, acquire and nurture audiences to build profitable ventures through social media. Information shared will be applicable to all levels of business from concept stage entrepreneurs to SMEs. Materials shared will build curiosity into buyer psychology online and the scalability of building a 24/7 online business model.​

Delivered by Seanie Walsh​ a 25 year old media disruptor, social media entrepreneur and sometimes musician.

Close The Deal - Sales Workshop - Tuesday 5th March 

The purpose of this workshop is to develop your sales skills. This means that your sales team learn to sell with ease, knowing what to say and when to say it. This results in closing more sales thus generating greater profit for your company.​

Part of the process is to become adept at knowing when to close a sale, to handle smokescreens, real objections, create the desire in the client to acquire the product/service and finally close the sale.

This intensive workshop is delivered by Joe Dalton and produces top sales people who know how to sell successfully and confidently.​

How Stories Can Boost Your Bottom Line Workshop - Wednesday 6th March

​​This workshop is a deep dive into how stories can help solve your business problems....specifically around customer engagement and even staff buy-ins for in-house projects.

Learn how stories work, why we tell them and why they’re among the most persuasive forms of communication.

Delivered by Brian MacIntyre, who has spent three decades working as a story teller in various forms, this workshop will help you to understand the shape of stories, the role of emotion, themes and a handful of other elements that make for great content marketing and ads that truly connect with customers.

'Create that Brand' - Branding Workshop - Thursday 7th March

At this workshop, which is being delivered by Gavin O'Sullivan & Ronnie Trouton of expCreative, you will get practical advice about what exactly a brand is, the hallmarks of successful brands and how to differentiate your brand in a crowded market.

Learn about the Fundamentals of Branding, the difference between a product and a brand, how to identify your brand’s strengths and how to take your brand from essence to advertising.

Peer to Pier Networking Walk - Friday 8th March

Following the Harness Mega-Trends Workshop we are inviting you to join Dublin's business community on 2.5km of networking along Dún Laoghaire's East Pier where you can find future business partners, enjoy coffee or ice-cream at the half way mark & relax and unwind in the Royal St. George Yacht Club for even more networking afterwards.

This is a not to be missed event  - feedback has been fantastic from previous walks with the general experience being highly positive. Walking and networking as it happens are a great way to start a meaningful business relationship.

Katapult Programme - For Start-Ups with Global Ambition

Places are filling up fast on the first Katapult programme, an inititiave of the LEO DLR. Aimed at startups and founders to help them get the basics right. It's based on the learnings of over 20 years supporting early stage companies.

Too often we see companies that have built their strategy on untested and unvalidated products or services. After going on the programme participants will have a validated product or service and will understand the fundamentals of marketing, their business model, routes to market, finances, structure and how to build their product and have completed a final pitch.

It's essential that these steps are completed early in a statup to provide the best opportunity for success and investment.
  • Programme Fee: €150
  • Held across 9 evenings (Monday Evenings: 6pm - 9pm - exact date and venue TBC)
This is an initiative of LEO DLR and the content is delivered by experts in their field.

Brexit - Take Action Now! - LEAN Brexit Event - 26th February 
 

With Brexit about to affect businesses in Ireland of all shapes and sizes, it is important to be prepared. At this session, attendees will get the latest on Brexit, and become familiar with actions that they can take now, to help mitigate against the potential impacts.
