Medication Disposal at the Cayuga Heights Police Department

Did you know that the Village of Cayuga Heights Police Department has a medication drop box in their lobby which is accessible Monday through Friday 9 AM to 4:30 PM?  Disposing of your medications in a secure drop box helps to reduce overdoses by getting rid of unneeded and outdated medications that can be accidentally ingested by children.  Medications are frequently stolen from medicine cabinets or the trash and are then used or sold illegally.  When medications are flushed down the drain or thrown in the trash, it can contaminate our water bodies and have adverse effects on our environment.  For more information on safe medication disposal, please visit http://tompkinscountyny.gov/sheriff/MedicationDropBox  For more information on medication disposal facts and sharps collection, you may also visit our website at http://www.cayuga-heights.ny.us/police.html

Natural Gas Safety Inspections in the Village of Cayuga Heights

NYSEG and Avangrid DDS are conducting natural gas safety inspections Monday-Saturday 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. during the upcoming months.   All residents with natural gas services should expect a visit from an Avangrid employee to check for any potential gas pipe replacement needs.  Avangrid employees have registered with CHPD.  They drive labeled white trucks and will have proper identification.  This project will continue until all natural gas services have been inspected, potentially into 2020.  Please contact Cayuga Heights PD or any other Village of Cayuga Heights office if you have further questions or concerns.  For detailed information, please see our website at http://www.cayuga-heights.ny.us/ or visit the NYSEG page here.

Upcoming Village Election

The 2019 Village Election will be held on Tuesday, March 19th at Kendal at Ithaca 2230 North Triphammer Road in Ithaca.  Polls are open noon to 9 p.m. on the 19th.  Offices to be filled include three Trustee positions for a two year term.  March 8th is the last day for voters to register with the Board of Elections to vote in the Village election.  March 12th is the last day for the Board of Elections to receive applications for an absentee ballot to be mailed to a voter.  March 18th is the last day for an applicant (or their agent) to personally deliver applications for an absentee ballot to the Board of Elections.  For more information, please click here.
