With the help of a University Sustainability Fund grant, students, faculty and staff can now reap the benefits of a vertical garden installed on the ground-floor patio inside the Adele H. Stamp Student Union-Center for Student Life.

It becomes the second indoor green wall on campus, after a “biowall” was installed in the lobby of McKeldin Library last spring.
Wall of Wellness
Nathan Hultman, an author of the America's Pledge on Climate report and director of the Center for Global Sustainability, said the flurry of new state policies could help push the U.S. closer to its Paris goal, a reduction of emissions at least 26 percent below 2005 levels by 2025, though it would take time to gauge their full impact.
Did you know that the entire University of Maryland campus is an arboretum? Enjoy an early morning walk around some of the highlights of our gardens and grounds with outreach coordinator and certified arborist, Meg Smolinski.
See how a staff member from the Department of Astronomy traded traffic for the train in a new Smart Commute Success Story from Transportation Services.
A new first-ever statewide survey shows that Marylanders have many connections to agriculture and hold highly favorable views of farmers, but have less familiarity with the economic importance and environmental benefits of the state’s forestry industry.
