SAFEGUARDING COURSE

The Next Safeguarding Course, an essential every three years for coaches, will take place in the club on Monday week, February 25th.

Breaking news that young Rachel Hartnett has been named as Vice Captain of the Dublin Minor football team. Their Championship gets under way on Sunday with a 2pm throw in at St Margaret’s against Meath. Both Rachel and Grainne O’Driscoll are in the starting 15. #COYGIB

Good luck to Matty and our crew on the Dublin Senior Hurling team in action at Pearse Stadium against Galway on Sunday.

Congratulations to our eight lads on the Colaiste Eoin team that beat Kilkenny CBS to qualify for the Leinster Schools final during the week.

This is going to be brilliant. Tommy Walsh, Derek McGrath and now Kieran Donaghy as well. Sure you wouldn’t want to miss it and for such a good cause.

During 2018, Amanda Stapleton, sister of one of the stalwarts of our senior hurling team, Shane, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. As a result, Amanda has not been able to work for the last number of months and this situation is unlikely to change in the foreseeable future. To assist Amanda and her family at this difficult time an Amanda Stapleton Fund has been established for all funds raised from fundraisers, donations etc. To date, the support of members of the GAA has been a major contributor and the family are greatly appreciative of this support.

With Shane being a valued member of our club, we in Cuala are organising a fundraiser in conjunction with Newstalk’s Off the Ball team. “An evening for Amanda” will see an Off the Ball Roadshow being held in the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire on Wednesday the 20th of February next. The event will commence at 8pm (doors opening at 7.30pm) with all proceeds going to the Amanda Stapleton Fund. Tickets are €20 each with tables of 10 available for €200.

We'd really like a big turnout for this very special night.

COMING SOON

Word is beginning to spread about a major club-wide event in May which will serve as a primary fundraiser for our ambitious plans.

Volunteers are being sought from each group within the club.  This could be your chance to shine, and please if you can, don't leave it to the mentors who already devote a lot of time...

Lots of league action for the boys this weekend. The girls get going next weekend.

Details of the Cuala Easter Camps have been published on the website

Check out out the details here.

Congratulations to the U12 B and C teams who both got their Cuala careers off to a wining start last week, banging in goals for fun and playing in a great spirit.

Wishing the the best of luck to our U14 girls Féile group who are heading off on a weekend of ziplining, paintballing, singing and for all we know big snorkelling to get them ready for their season.

If you have a story from any of the boys or girls teams that you'd like to share, drop an email to our editor here.

The number of adult Cuala football teams, and the number of U12 boys football teams in action this weekend. Symmetry.
