A Few Chords from the President

April is coming, Easter, Anzac Day, performances at the Sunshine Coast Ukulele Festival in Kenilworth, and it seems a month when so many people move house, or travel overseas ... but BUMS keeps going even with that.

At our last committee meeting we confirmed the date of the 27 July for the Bass Riffs workshop with local music and song writer Mark Cryle. Mark has played around Brisbane for many years. Those who enjoy the live music scene will have come across him. Tickets with considerable discounts for BUMS members go on sale shortly.

It’s coming up for membership renewal soon folks. Membership is due in July, but early renewals will keep the pressure off the membership team. $50 a year is a bargain, especially since subscriptions BUMS have to pay keep rising. So please don’t delay your payment.

On the social side, we were very pleased to see Narelle Burke, one of our loyal performing members, looking well and back jamming at Coorparoo after recent surgery. And we're also pleased to learn that Margaret Floyd, one of our Northside jam regulars, is doing well after a long illness. We hope to see Margaret at Northside again soon.

Have a great April!
