Dear friends,

Last week, the Senate went on recess, marking 1/4 of the way through the legislative session. Over the past two months, Senate Democrats have passed important legislation on Medicaid reimbursement rates, paid family medical leave, and improving patient access to emergency psychiatric care.

Legislative Update:

SB 5 - Last month, we passed SB 5, a bill I sponsored to increase Medicaid reimbursement rates for mental health and substance use disorder treatment.

SB 290 - Makes changes to our Medicaid expansion program, improving its financial stability and focusing the work and community engagement requirement where it can be most successfully applied.

SB 1 - Last month, Senate Democrats took a major step toward delivering on helping Granite Staters by passing Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance out of the Senate.

SB 241 - The New Hampshire legislature has been going back and forth on passenger rail for many years. Last week, I was a proud co-sponsor as Senator Melanie Levesque's SB 241 to use federal funds to study passenger rail pass. Passenger rail will help bring young families to Nashua and build up our workforce.

Outside the Statehouse:

As the presidential primary picks up, I've been happy to welcome so many great candidates to Nashua. Senators Amy Klobuchar, Elizabeth Warren, and Cory Booker have all been to and done events in Nashua in the last month.
