Public Consultation on Sussex/Robert Community Area, Mon., March 4
The first of three public consultations on the new community area at the corner of Sussex/Robert is scheduled for Monday, March 4, 4:30-7:30 (371 Bloor Street West, Room 139 (enter off Spadina). As you may recall, the OMB settlement regarding the Sussex-Spadina student residence provided for a public space designed with community input at that location. This is your opportunity to come and share your ideas of what you’d like to see there. Two more consultations will be held on April 2 and May 7.
And Even More City Consultations, March 4-19
If this never-ending winter has made you eager to have your voice heard about something other than the weather — which you really can’t do anything about — check out these City consultations on upcoming bylaw reviews. Maybe one of these topics is of particular interest to you. Just check out the webpages listed for more information

Follow Up on Those 311 Snow Removal Complaints
And speaking about the weather, if you’re still upset about the lack of City response, dare I say empathy, for those 311 complaints about unshoveled sidewalks in HV, scroll down the sidebar story on the HV website regarding contacting the Ombudsman’s office about our complaints. Her webpage, as someone noted, sounds quite “welcoming” to hear our winter woes.
March Break Activities at Lillian Smith
Not able to escape to warmer climes for March break this year? If that’s your situation, you might want to check out what Lillian Smith Library is planning to help you fill some March Break hours for your kids. Of particular interest is a sushi making class for teens taught by our old neighbour from Wind Up Bird Cafe, Chef Sang Kim. If any other cool ideas for March Break come our way, we’ll be sure to blast them out to you.
