Masters Meet - Officials Wanted

The Victoria Masters Swim Club is hosting the 2019 Masters BC Provincial Championships at Commonwealth Pool. This is a 3 day meet that runs Friday April 12th in the evening through Sunday the 14th during the day.

They are looking for Stroke and Turn, Clerk of the Course, Recorder/Scorer(crash desk) positions. The sessions are generally fairly short and they will be dividing these into shorter shifts which look to be about 3 hours long.

Masters meets are truly inspirational as you can see how the sport our kids participate in can be with them for life.

If you would like more information or want to volunteer please contact Paul.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Piranhas Families - here is a GREAT opportunity to support our swim club and get some fantastic exposure for your business.

It costs only $500 a year to sponsor the Piranhas & this counts towards your $200 fundraising commitment for the year.

Sponsorship dollars go to lane rentals and coaching costs that directly and positively affect the fees we need to charge our swimmers.  This means that because of your donation, we have many families that are able to access high quality coaching and training who would not be able to.

Following please find the sponsorship form for 2019 (the Sidney Piranhas' 40th year!).  We would be very grateful for your consideration.

Registration

Registration for our summer season is just around the corner! We will be publishing the fees/schedule next Monday.

Online registration will open for returning swimmers March 11th.

Registration will open to the public on April 1st 5:30 - 6:30 at Panorama.

The summer season begins May 1st.

Spring Break

Our last day of swimming will be Sunday, March 17th and we will be back in the pool on Monday, April 1st.

Enjoy the break!

Bottle Drive

Our annual bottle drive is on April 6 - start saving your bottles and mark your calendars for our second (and last) fundraiser for the Winter Maintenance season. There will be two volunteer shifts - 8:30-11 am and a 11-1:30. Hot dogs will be served at 11 am for all volunteers.

We will have flyers for distribution available very soon. The expectation is that all families volunteer and contribute a significant amount of cans/bottles. If you are unable to attend on the day you can help by flyering neighbourhoods and taking your returnables to the Bottle Depot in Sidney where we have an account (just be sure to get a receipt, write your name on it and pop it in the grey drop box next to the Piranhas bulletin board).

More information will be available soon.

Summer Team Shirt Contest

It's time to design our (40th YEAR) 2019 summer t-shirt!

Creative minds are needed!

Drawings need to be on white paper. Using markers or a black pen is helpful.

Keep in mind while creating that our shirts are Black and that the team colours are red, black, and white and that IT'S THE 40th YEAR of PIRANHAS!!

Drawings need to be submitted by March 30, please.

Contact Ashli for more information.

Summer Camping

Steve Tait has been busy booking group camping for swim meets.

The Brannan Lake Group site has been booked for Nanaimo.

If you are wanting to camp with the group at Puntledge in Courtenay please text Steve at 250-216-4813. There are only ten sites available (five with power/water, five unserviced) so it is first come, first served!

We are unable to make group reservations on Salt Spring. We have camped at Mowhinna Creek Campground for the last couple of years but it books up every year so you will want to get on it early! They are pretty strict with lights out and have a no dog policy.
