Telcoin Newsletter #14
March 1, 2019

We’ve created this monthly newsletter to share the latest Telcoin updates, announcements, and other relevant information regarding the company’s progress. As always, stay tuned to our Telegram community and announcements channels for the most immediate news and alerts.

Canada - Regulatory Licensing

We can now confirm that Telcoin’s registration with the Canadian regulator, FINTRAC, as a Money Services Business was approved. This allows Telcoin to legally operate its business within Canada and allow Canadians to send & receive remittances. This is a major milestone for Telcoin as it allows us to now start connecting to the cash-out side of remittance corridors globally.
Our compliance team has been working hard on this!

New Business Development Resource

We are excited to announce that Hassan Masud has joined the Telcoin BD team, initially focused on Pakistan and Middle East markets. Hassan comes with an extensive telecom background. His experience expands over 20 years working for some the leading telecom companies (VEON, Telenor, Nortel Networks amongst others) across multiple functions.
An engineer by training, Hassan now leads sales and relationship management for mobile network operator customers across the globe. He’s worked in Technology, Enterprise Risk Management, Program
management, Fraud, Sales and has also done consulting - a breadth of experience gives him a very deep understanding of the telecom ecosystem. He previously managed regional sales for 70% of the telecom world for Mobius, helping it grow from a startup disruptor to a solid tier 1 player in the GSMA Fraud and Security space.  We are very happy to have Hassan now helping us in some remittance markets that are key to Telcoin's growth strategy.

Telcoin in Sri-Lanka

This month we were very active in Sri-Lanka initiating discussions with two major Mobile Network Operators and other potential partners. So far the feedback has been positive and we see many opportunities for Telcoin to provide our services to the Sri Lankan people, furthering our expansion of key remittance corridors. We will provide more information about our activities in the region as and when we are able.

Community Ambassador

Earlier in February we launched our Community Ambassador Program to give something back to our loyal community members who have been flying the Telcoin flag since we launched. Each month we will be selecting three members who have been shining examples of community spirit and sharing their passion for Telcoin far and wide. However as it is launch month we have decided to start the series with a bang and selected twelve members to be Telcoin Ambassadors who will each be receiving a Telcoin Goodie bag as a way of saying thank you.
Weekly office hours

February also saw the launch of our weekly AMA series “Office Hours” and has been well received by members of the community. It gives people the chance to speak directly with the employees of Telcoin to discuss different areas of our operation in more detail and to provide further insight into the work that each department does.

Thank you for reading and embarking on this exciting journey with us! We’re always open to questions and comments via our Telegram community channel or hello@telco.in.

If you’re a telecom operator interested in offering your subscribers a better remittance solution, drop us a line at mno@telco.in.
