LéO At 5

The New Year has started off in a very special way for the Institute! On January 25 we celebrated 5 years of nurturing a new generation of young leaders that are impacting change in Africa. The Institute was honored to celebrate this milestone with people that have been part of our journey from the very beginning: our board of directors, faculty, YELP fellows and our growing network of associates.
Our special thanks go to Mrs. Molly Kamukama, the Principal Private Secretary to H.E. Kaguta Museveni for honoring our invitation and delivering a keynote address at this year’s Annual Gala Dinner.

Class of 2018 Graduation

We are also proud to announce that our phenomenal Young and Emerging Leaders Project Class of 2018 graduated on January 26th! The Fellows graduated after completing the third and final seminar on “Living Your Legacy”.
The YELP Class of 2018 Valedictorian is Wanjuhi Njoroge, who is, among many things, an environmental activist and emerging thought leader in Kenya. You can read her powerful valedictorian speech here.

Meet some of the Fellows in the Class of 2019 here to get some insight into the incredible work they are involved in.

Upcoming events

The YELP Class of 2019 will be in Kampala for the first seminar over the weekend of 22-24 March. The seminar will focus on the different aspects of personal leadership, and draw upon readings from some of Africa’s revolutionary leaders
