At COTS Youth we aim to be real in our faith, have fun, & meet each person where they are.
Every youth can belong.

Lest there be any doubt...
COTS Youth is open to
ALL youth.

There is nothing about any youth that would bar him/her/them from being welcomed or participating fully in this ministry.
YOU are invited.  The kid next to you is invited.  The kid across the room is invited.

You are accepted as you are.  You belong to the group from day 1.  And we seek to care for each and every person in our group.

Conversation about General Conference

Who:   All the youth in grades 6-12.  Rev. Andy will be there, too.
(Not required, but helpful for food prep if you reply real quick and let Curt know you're coming.)

What:  Gather to hear about, talk about, process the outcome of the meeting of the global United Methodist Church.  There are people who are upset.  Some youth are upset.  Rev. Andy was at the conference and will share what he knows about it.
TO BE CLEAR: this isn't about trying to get anyone to think anything, it's about distilling the facts, what they do and don't mean, and what's next.
And we'll have food, too.

When:  THIS Saturday, March 2, 5:30-7:00 pm

Where:  Meet & pick up at the Tim & Mary Persons home at 2901 Torrington Rd, Shaker Hts, OH.

Please don't hesitate to contact Curt if you have questions.

Ash Wednesday Worship

Wednesday, Mar 6, 7:00 - 8:00 pm
Ash Wednesday is when the season of Lent begins and we prepare for Easter.  It emphasizes two themes: our sinfulness before God, and our human mortality.

Ash Wednesday worship services focus on both themes, helping us to realize that BOTH have been TRIUMPHED through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Come and see.  Bring the fam.
Online COTS Child/Youth Medical Info & Permission Slip
A completed COTS Medical Info & Permission Slip is required for each youth and is valid for the school year.  Please help us by having friends' parents complete the waiver.

Something to Think About....

I had this coin collection as a kid.  I think I had a steel wheat penny that might've been worth two pennies. It's worth a dime, now!  None of it was worth much, but if I wanted to know what a certain coin in a certain condition was worth, I could look it up in this book that listed values.

Jesus was teaching...
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls.  When he found one very precious pearl, he went and sold all that he owned and bought it."
--- Matthew 13:45-46 (CEB)

How do you decide whether you value something or someone?  Maybe by how much you're willing to give for him/her/them/it, or by how hard your willing to work, or by how long you're willing to wait, or by what you're willing to say no to or yes to.

Take a minute to talk with God about....God.  What's being with God worth to you?  What does it cost you to be with God?  What does it cost God to be with you?  What if God was so important to you that you'd be willing to give up everything else to be with God?
