🦁🐑 Are you a lion or a lamb?
How to quit your roaring!🦁🐑

If you're roaring into March like a bat outta hell constantly yelling at your children, looking red faced and feeling angry because they never listen to you and you've lost all control of yourself and are at your wits end because you've forgotten how to communicate like the nice person you used to be before the energy suckers entered your life then it is time to GET IT TOGETHER this month and cruise out like the lamb you once were before having babies. (Whew!)

Why do you yell? Is it simply because you're too lazy to control your temper?

You can choose to stop saying "Stop it!" (Because those two words don't change behaviors, they just aggravate the moment and make you look like the child.)

You can choose to speak respectfully toward your child.

You can choose to take a deep breath and calm yourself and speak in a normal volume.

You can choose to pick your battles and take a step back when all you really, really want to do is scream.

This month you can choose to change your parenting communication style, and if you do it correctly you'll get your children to do what you want them to do even if you whisper. As over-worked moms, wouldn't we prefer to spend time with our children smiling and liking them rather than counting the hours until bedtime?

Next time you're tempted to yell, press pause and try these techniques. Then, let us know how it's going on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram and hashtag #GITMom to join in the conversation!
