Art to Change the World (ACW) is a non-profit, diverse coalition of artists, educators, scientists, topic experts, and other change makers who join forces in service of positive social change. We employ the arts, education, audience engagement, and organizational partnerships to provoke discussion, reflection, and action.
Director's Message
2019 has been a winter of reflection for me.  See. Say. DO was a smashing success.  Now what? Many of us are working hard to make ACW into an organization which will be able to pay staff for their service and pay project participants going forward (as we did in S.S.D.).

Even more important, is the work we are doing on recognizing and honoring our intersectionality. This is not an easy thing to do. We are all taught to believe that our truth is THE truth. With 7 billion people on the planet, it is statistically improbable, and a bit breathtakingly arrogant, to actually believe that your truth is THE truth.

Michael Franti says it better than I ever could:

Cause every bit of land is a holy land
And every drop of water is a holy water
And every single child is a son or a daughter
Of the one earth mama, and the one earth papa
So don't tell a man that he can't come here '
Cause he got brown eyes and a wavy kind of hair
And don't tell a woman that she can't go there
Because she prays a little different to a God up there
You say you're a Christian 'cause God made you
You say you're a Muslim 'cause God made you You say you're a Hindu and the next man a Jew
And we all kill each other 'cause God told us to?
Nah!

Be gentle with each other.

Who is your leadership hero?  Win a this Candy Kuehn Print!
What makes a good leader? Some lead from behind or within, some are elected; often individuals are drafted and thrust into leadership they never intended.
Art to Change the World, to accomplish group and individual missions, seeks to reinforce leadership styles and situations that work, through a leadership coaching program to be developed. We’d like to hear from members of all perspectives, “who are your leadership heros, and why?” The world needs new ideas on leadership; we can be the collector and catalyst.
Send your thoughts by email to Emily Forbes sisucatstudio@gmail.com
Please send by Wednesday, March 20th.
Those who participate will be entered into a prize drawing for the print shown above by Candy Kuehn.

FEATURED MEMBER CRAIG HARRIS

 Who is Craig Harris?

The formal answer – Craig Harris (Composer & Theater Artist) is the Artistic Director of Interference Arts and is a composer, designer, performer and writer. Harris creates multimedia dramatic stage works, interactive sculptural environments, and creative story spaces.

The personal answer -  Craig Harris was one of the first people I approached as we were giving birth to ACW.  He had been a member and a leader of many arts initiatives. He was cautious.  As I came to know Craig I was not surprised nor disappointed in his technical skills and his experience in acting as an event coordinator - as he did with See. Say. Do.  What I did not expect was his great intellect and the opportunity to learn about the complexity of the Jewish experience through his work and our conversations.

I was so very pleased to see that others outside of ACW also recognize his vast contributions  to the mission of Art Changing the World. https://www.arttochangetheworld.org/craig-harris/

Please join me in congratulating him Craig@InterferenceArts.com  for this tribute appearing in the Southwest Journal
