So who won between Cuala and Cuala in the Adult Hurling last week? Who among you might help out with a little video project in the club? Who looked well in the Royal Marine last week? And which of our 26 home games this weekend catches your eye?

The big internal derby from last weekend finished with Cuala 2 winning out over Cuala 3 in the opening fixture of the adult Hurling league division 4.

The first and fourth teams both recorded narrow margin wins, often the best kind, over Lucan and Setanta.

This is week it’s the Men’s footballers in the spotlight. We have a total of 25 home fixtures this weekend, together with half as many again away from home.

We we have listed all the games taking place below, thanks to Mairéad in the office who does all the heavy lifting on our fixtures.

HURLING COACHING WORKSHOP

Cuala Coaching hosting a Hurling coaching workshop & presentation with Derek McGrath on Saturday 9th. Venue: Bray Emmets. Time:10.30am

Well done to Cuala's Sean Brennan, Darragh O’Connell, Sean Moran, Jake Malone and Sean and David Treacy. All part of the Dublin squad that defeated Waterford in the League in Parnell Pk on Sunday.

Hope Sean is feeling better after his knock. Hope Darragh is feeling better after the red card that most there would need a lot of convincing was deserved. (Editors note - We dont question the officials here. They’ve a tough job and they never change their mind anyway ;-)

Well done Martha Byrne and Jennifer Dunne making their mark at Croke Park against Mayo. Jen is back in starting 15 for Sunday’s game against Westmeath at DCU.
AMANDA STAPLETON NIGHT

Thanks to everyone for a great night at the Royal Marine last week for our Off The Ball night in support of the Amanda Stapleton Fund.

Who knew Kieran Donaghy could be such a decent fella, and that Tommy Walsh would be so funny.

There’s loads of pictures from the night at the website.

Check them out here.

WIN YOURSELF AN OSCAR

We are looking to produce a video showing off just how great a club Cuala is. Before we go to Shinawil or Loosehorse for a quote we’d like to offer you a chance to put your hand up if you’ve any knowledge, expertise or contacts that might be able to help.

Simply email the editor if you think you might be able to help.

SYMPATHIES

Our sympathies to the Flavin and Tracey families in their recent bereavements. May the memories of the good times outweigh the sorrow of the moment.

CUALA AWARDS NIGHT

The 2019 Cuala Awards Night will be on Friday 15th March in the Royal Marine Hotel.

This year we’re planning a less formal event to congratulate those teams and individuals who have done us most proud over the last 12 months. Instead of a sit-down dinner we will have platters of food, a short awards ceremony followed by dancing and late bar.

Details on tickets will be announced soon.

Hard luck Coláiste Eoin

It wasn’t to be for our lads from Coláiste Eoin in the Leinster Senior Scools Hurling final last weekend.

Eoin O Ceallacháin, Conall O Tuathaill, Ódhrán Mac Gearailt, Rian O Maoileoin, Ríarí Ó Seanáin, Cormac Mac Mathúna agus Lúc Ó Túama have a bright future nevertheless.

Strong start for Camógs

The U16, U15 and U14’s all recorded wins in their opening camogie matches of the 2019 League last weekend. The U13s were unlucky to lose narrowly to St. Finians.

Hard luck to the U16 Boys Footballers who were narrowly beaten by Raheny in Division 2 at the weekend, despite scoring an impressive 3-14

SAFEGUARDING COURSE

The Next Safeguarding Course, an essential every three years for coaches, will take place in the club on Monday week, February 25th.
