Growing Together: From Holes to Whole // Vers la plénitude

Sunday, March 3rd 10:30am
Dimanche 3 mars 10h30

On this first Sunday of the month, when we worship as a whole community together, we'll be exploring where we need to connect with our own hearts and how we can support one another as we heal ourselves, the first step to engaging in real reconciliation.

This month as we explore the contemporary relationships between Indigenous peoples and non-Indigenous Canadians, I'd love to hear what questions your family has about Reconciliation - let's explore the answers together!
Next RE Lunch
Sunday March 10th

Join our whole community for a soup & bread lunch after church.  Your contributions of nut-free desserts are always appreciated!!

The RE Lunch is a gift to our community for which there is no cost.  There is often soup left over at the end of the meal - bring a container to take some home!
The Prayground in the Sanctuary is a spot for kids to have a great view of the service - please consider sitting as a family nearby!  We hope you enjoy the theme materials to go along with our services - please feel free to keep any colouring sheets or story pages your kids create.
This Week in Youth Group
Please remain in the Sanctuary and participate in our All Ages service this Sunday.
None of us exists all alone - we are made up of the places that we needed others to help fill us in.  What's a hole in you that someone else has helped fill?

Grow Your Mind
Grandir ton cerveau

Last Sunday we learned about some important figures in Black History, including the abolitionist Frederick Douglass, who inspired many early Unitarians to take up the anti-slavery cause.  We learned from our visiting musician and service leader, Floydd Rickets, about the Underground Railroad, and the secret coded words in Spiritual songs which guided enslaved people into freedom.

Learn About Viola Desmond

Viola Desmond was a black entrepreneur in Nova Scotia who is an important figure in the fight for racial equality in Canada.  She recently became the first non-white person to be featured on Canadian currency - maybe you've seen a Viola Desmond ten dollar bill?  There have been several books published about her life recently - why not check one out from your local library?
