#7: Ole Miss MBB HC Davis threw his jacket on the floor during the end-of-game sequence in Oxford Wednsday night as his squad fell in a close game to Tennessee. Afterwards, Rebels fans threw trash onto the court to express their frustration. (link, link)
#6: Yahoo Sports' Wetzel profiles 13-year-old female soccer phenom Moultrie, who accepted a soccer scholarship to North Carolina... two years ago. She has since appeared in a Nike ad, which of course eliminates her chance to play at the collegiate level. (link);
#5: Not quite sure what to make of this, but it looks like Miami (FL)'s FB staff may have crashed a Florida State-Nike coaching clinic in Orlando on Friday night. One report from the scene, "So Manny Diaz and his staff show up right before the breakout session in all of their Adidas gear and start throwing a full-on frat party (in a separate room) handing out free beers to all high school (coaches)...DURING FSU's BREAKOUT SESSION! So instead...they were all heading towards the Miami party. (Hello, free beer!). [...] Everybody was like, 'this is an epic, gangster ass stunt.'" #4: Southern Illinois gets a new logo, described as "a more modern-looking sideways shot of a Saluki dog facing to the right." SIU AD Kill thinks merch & apparel sales could increase by 10 to 30 percent with the new look, which will be weaved into all programs. Kill also pointed to the Kansas State Power Cat mark as inspiration for Salukis' refresh, "Inspirational-wise, what it's done for that campus and that town, it was incredible, so I'm hoping that we can take this journey and continue it on for a long time."
